Mactaggart Sanctuary-Edmonton Maternity Photographer

I am often asked what timeframe is the best for maternity photos. I recommend planning to do your maternity session when you are between 32-34 weeks along in your pregnancy. At this point, you will have a beautiful belly to show off in the photos. If the session is left to occur at 36 weeks or later, we will run the risk of you going into labour prior to your maternity photo session (this has happened quite a few times with my past clients).

I met with this sweet couple in early September, just as summer was winding down. The autumn colours were just beginning to pop in some places.

This couple has such natural chemistry! They were also so much fun to photograph! Isn’t this expecting momma so gorgeous?!

Smoke on the Water-Edmonton Maternity Photographer

The summer of 2021 was another smoke-filled summer for Alberta. This family was so great to work with, and we had a gorgeous evening for this maternity session (even if the smoke was thick).

I’ve been a photographer for quite a while now, and I mainly work with returning clients. However, this was a brand new family that I got to work with-which was exciting for me!

I wish them all the best as they welcome the new addition into their family!

Hayan had his first birthday! He’s now one year old! I recently did a blue and white theme for another little boy, and Hayan’s parents asked me to re-create it for their son’s session. We also did some family photos as well. Happy birthday, Hayan!

Balloons & Fairy Lights-Edmonton Cake Smash Photographer

Zaynab is one year old! Her parents brought her into the studio to celebrate her first birthday with a pink and white cake smash session. They chose a backdrop from my collection, and I added a pink and white balloon garland, some fairy lights for the background, and a rosette cake. Happy birthday, Zaynab!

Wildfire Smoky Session-Edmonton Family Photographer

I’ve been such a lucky photographer to get so capture so many memories for this family over the years! One thing I haven’t done for them is capture some family photos during thick wildfire smoke…until now! Sometimes my client’s work schedules just don’t allow for us to reschedule. After verifying that they were ok to proceed, we met up at Millcreek Ravine.

Wildfire smoke was never an issue I had to deal with in the past when I first began photographing families in 2012. Now it seems to be a growing concern every summer, but this family handled it well. On the positive side, the smoke does act as a giant diffuser for the sun. This means that I am able to easily capture photos earlier in the day without worrying about people squinting in the harsh sun!

This brother and sister duo have to be the cutest I have ever photographed! I just love the photos of the siblings together!
